Sherlock - Modernized Sherlock Holmes
Star Trek - I'm pretty sure everyone knows what it's about, The original and TNG can be at bit corny at the start but they really pick up.
Doctor Who - Sci-fi series about a time traveling alien who travels with (mostly human) friends though time
The Twilight Zone - Hard to describe but some pretty great story telling for a television show with 25 minute-long episodes
Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Hilarious show,
The intro gives the back-story (Not that it needed one).
Top Gear (UK) - Three brits review cars and do other crazy shenanigans. such as preforming their own Winter Olympics, launching a car on a rocket, driving to the north pole, etc.
