Author Topic: What is Player Persistence?  (Read 4028 times)

I was in RTB, and I found that I had an addon called Player Persistence, even though I never remembered downloading it.

What does it do?

this is a default add-on that saves player positions, items, and scores

Oh, okay. I personally don't care about this, tell me otherwise if it's important.

It's a stuff mod that will make client's spawn exactly like they left brfore, keeping pos, tools, stuff.
Really annoying when you switch server themes, ie.

it can be useful at times
example: you build something far away, leave the server, rejoin, and you're where your build is
but sometimes it's annoying
example: you make a TDM, your score gets to something like -20 or worse, then you close the server, the next time you start a server and it's a different kind of server you still have -20 score

It's also useful because you can register custom values for it to handle and save, which is really awesome if you're coding an RPG kinda thing.

When you die, do you respawn with nothing?

When you die, do you respawn with nothing?
Yes, it's only for when you disconnect and reconnect to the server

Also, if you die and disconnect, you still have to respawn when you rejoin

Wow, I'm suprised that some people dislike it somewhat. I thought it was a great mod

As did I.

Also, I find it fun because I can build stuff while looking like the Beta Player even if I re-enter my game. Dunno why, I just like it.
