Author Topic: Fillcan Update - Reformatted, Optimized, RTB-Compatible Fillcan  (Read 4028 times)

From what I understand from the OP you made the code prettier to look at and added some new useless command that I have never heard of?

The code is cleaner, I combined some redundant commands into one, I added RTB hooks for ease of control. Minor fixes, including redundant %obj.client used when the if JUST before it uses %client (Which was set at the top of the command from %obj.client, anyway).

Could someone please help me get this fully fixed up and launched. You can surely take most of the credit for it, I simply want the efficiency improved, which I'm sure we can do.

I inquire once more - Would anyone want to undertake improving Fillcan? They can take majority or all the credit, as long as it is improved.

Sorry for all these posts, but due to the recent required fix to Fillcan (Which was actually passively fixed in this far beforehand), I thought it might be good to bring up the thought for a community fixed/rebuilt version of Fillcan that's more efficient. Would anyone be willing to participate in cleaning up further from the point I reached?

I have nothing to add, but would love to see this done.

Would like to see different options such as shape and FX selective cans.

You could already select those with the current Fillcan. In fact, a problem with Fillcan is it has almost the exact same script repeated three times - once for Color, Shape, and FX. I believe I tried to combine that all into one command... Don't remember if I got that all bunched together. I know I mixed some repetitive commands into one. I'll have to look over my work from last year. But in any case, I was hoping for other experienced coders to expand on what I had and make it even better. And again, they'd get full credit, considering they don't have to help and this doesn't even need recognition.

Edit: Ya, I'm not seeing repetitive code like I sort of remember. I think I managed to combine those three into one on my own successfully.  Still, I can see how it could be improved... Just not sure how would be best...

-le snip-
I mean as separate cans, currently the fillcan does all three at once...

Why would you need separate cans? It's not like you can hold three at once.

so you can color by color, OR brick, OR FX not all at once.

You... already... do that? This works like the paint can, but that it fills... So you can't select multiple ones and have them all apply...
