Author Topic: Subnet Error: This Does Not Appear to be a LAN Game: 1  (Read 2063 times)

The topic subject is an error message that has shown up over the last three days whenever I try to connect to an internet game. This would be a normal message had I attempted to connect to a LAN game, but I queried Internet Games, and this issue appears for every internet server I try to connect to. The bar on the bottom that usually reads "Welcome McNizzle" only reads "Authentication: Validating Key...". I attempted to re-enter my authentication key; the game accepted the key as genuine but proceeded to give me the validating message. Naturally, this is frustrating to me, because as fun as Blockland is making single-player builds, I enjoy playing on servers. I can view a server list, but can not connect to any games.

So, in synopsis:

1) I receive the same "This is not a LAN Game" error on any internet game I attempt to access.
2) The game appears to be attempting to validate my Game Key, despite having called it valid.
3) I have a valid key, the latest drivers, no firewalls, running Windows XP Professional.
4) The game has worked correctly on Internet games for 3 months prior with no errors; this has been happening for 3 days.

Can anybody give me any insight as to my problem?

It does that to Rudyman when he try's to bypass the auth server.  So if you have any of his scripts remove them.  Also, try reinstalling Blockland.

The "This is not a LAN Game" error appears because you have not authenticated.  The root of your problem is that the authentication procedure is not completed on the main menu.

What add-ons have you installed lately?

I attempted to re-install the game (Losing all of my saves, but it's a small price to pay to fix this); unfortunately, this did not fix the issue, as it still says "Authenticating Key". This appears to only be an issue when pertaining to multiplayer games, there is no block limit in single-player. However, when i try to start an internet game, I click "Launch Game" and Blockland pauses for a moment, then continues as though I hadn't pressed the button at all. At this point, there are no add-ons installed at all. I'm sorry to say I have little to no computer programming experience, so I can't provide much insight as to what it is.

ya know you could have keep yor saved files...

yeah, I kicked myself for not copying them out of the saves folder first, but most of it was off of servers anyway, and something in the save could have been the problem, like I said, I've got no clue, still not working.

Ok, I moved today, and some way or another, everything's working fine now. Oh well.
