Anything works with Windows 8, yes.
I have windows 8 because it was cheaper to buy it then windows 7 for my new pc build and I was really against it at first too. I've been using it for more than a month so far and I have gotten used to it. It's actually pretty cool and I really don't miss the old start bar. Windows 8 is faster and has less resource usage too, and if the new design irks you, then you can change it with this method: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CAuvlmPbJE
Or alternatively get Start8 which adds some nice customization options.Totally worth the $5http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/*$5 not $10
Okay, so pay for an "upgrade", then pay again to reverse the main change? Why bother getting the "upgrade" in the first place?
