i clicked notify on the general discussion board a few years ago, out of curiosity.

to this day, it still get emails about new topics, and i have no idea how to remove the notifications.

Go to your Profile, click "Notifications and Emails" in the left panel, check General Discussion in the subscribed boards list and click Unsubscribe.
