Author Topic: Model Crashes Blockland?  (Read 928 times)

I am making a land vehicle, but when I use it in-game, it crashes. I did everything along the lines of different tutorials - hub0 to hub4, mount0, all the empties, exporting... crashes the game.

When my vehicles crash the game it has been a problem with the collision mesh. Try exporting it without any collision and see what happens.

Put the collision mesh on the 2nd layer. Also, which version of the exporter are you using?

If you are using v0.97b3 then do the following:

1. Open the exporter
2. Locate the tab that says detail levels
2.1. Note "Detail1" and the 20 boxes.
2.2. Click on the 1st box
3. Locate the the "Add" button
3.1. Change "visible detail level" to "collision detail level"
3.2. Press "Add"
3.3. Click the 2nd box
4. Export

Also, turn off "double sided" before exporting. And fix the normals and the overlapping faces too. While these are not game-breaking faults, you should try making your meshes tidy, for a better performance and aesthetic appeal.

I just got the oppurtinity to do this.

It worked, you are awesome.

hey, after i spawned the vehicle, the wheels are way in the wrong position, like 10 feet off the car, while i put the wheel joints right onto the chassis.

Make sure the position of the wheel mesh is 0 0 0 in edit mode and object mode.

I just did that. But take a look at these two pictures -

The wheels are perfectly aligned to the center, but they are too far apart from each other, but if you take a look at blender...

the joints are in the wheel sockets!

Can you figure out the problem here? Thank you so much for helping me.
