Author Topic: My connection keeps dropping.  (Read 512 times)

I'm not sure what's going on, I called my provider's tech support and they said the modem has been on for 17 hours (since I last unplugged it) the guy told me to change the default channel on my router and I did.

I'm flustered about this.

pretty much every time WoW is on and Skype is on it drops within 3 minutes.

How do I fix this :c

Hook yourself up to the modem with an ethernet cable and see it if happens.

Oh, yeah I did that. It was slow but it wasn't "off" like it would have been if it had disconnected.

Have you tried restarting your computer? I've had connection problems like this before and restarting my computer helped. I would also try seeing if the modem is overheating.

I have restarted and my phone is also losing connection at the same time. :o

I'll check my modem right now.

sliiightly warm but not hot at all.

Anyone have any other fixes?

Might be a router setting or something I could fix?

It works fine on just skype but the moment I fire World of Warcraft up it drops.

Your router has contracted the Skrillexrus

its a virus where the diseased drop everything.

Because that means the modem hasn't been turning off, I think it means that it's likely not the modem's fault.

hasn't been turning off?
it's not supposed to be turning off
