how do i delete all my gmod mods?

okay so i really need to get rid of all my gmod mods and have a fresh gmod with no addons. So in my addons folder in the garrysmod/garrysmod/addons i had all these file things. These were all my addons so i deleted all the files. i then opened gmod and it started to reinstall EVERY addon i deleted in that addons folder. so how do i delete all of my gmod addons?

If you're playing the newest Garry's Mod with the workshop, you'll need to unsubscribe from the addon. They should remove themselves I think. Aside from that, they shouldn't reinstall instantly unless there's some SVN magic I'm unaware of.

i dont want to go through 17 pages unsubscribing all my mods. will deleting local game content do anything?
