I'm loving done with this argument. You're just too stubborn to realize that nobody needs their goddamn assault rifles/semi automatic weapons to defend a house. well a cop can pull out a ar-15 or shotgun and fire a rifled slug at the gunman.

Last time I checked, cops on the street don't carry a rifle on their back and they only keep it in the car. Unless the cop was one of the response team members then he probably won't have a high-powered rifle with them.

There are farmers down in the southern states that require weapons like these to defend themselves against the illegal drug trafficers from mexico. Said illegals will often attempt to raid farmhouse materials such as pestisides and other hazardous chemicals for their drug operations. Such cartells will also probably not be armed with measly little pistols to get what they want.

Last time I checked, cops on the street don't carry a rifle on their back and they only keep it in the car. Unless the cop was one of the response team members then he probably won't have a high-powered rifle with them.

Most of the time they have time to get there ar-15 out of the back of the trunk. Most squad cars in my town have the ar15 holstered near the front seat where a shotgun would normally go. I'm going to assume your department operates differently.

Edit: Also some countries like Norway and Switzerland have low murder rates and allow the ownership of guns.
