Author Topic: Samsung Galaxy S2 - Awkward Internet problem  (Read 1648 times)

So I was browsing Facebook in bed the other day and I came across some research pic that some forgettard posted in response to some dumb status. I opened it, sighed and closed the tab. Now this wouldn't be a problem if the pic didn't start appearing EVERY loving TIME I OPEN THE BROWSER.

It's as if it's become my new homepage, but I've checked in the settings and it isn't. If I close the tab and get back to the browser a while later, that loving pic will be there. I've cleared out my history, cookies etc. but to no avail.

I don't have a problem with the image itself, but if this stuff doesn't stop now something terrible will happen eventually.

Think of it as a second wallpaper.

I've literally never had this problem, and I'm running 4.0.3 on a Galaxy S2 (SGH-i777).

Press the back arrow key repeatedly next time it appears.  Otherwise, you really need to recheck all settings and make sure everything all over again.

Well, the link looked exactly like any image from Facebook would, starting with fbcdn or something similar.

just fyi pictures can't carry viruses

viruses can carry pictures and have file formats faked as .png or whatever, but you can't have a .exe inside of a .png or .jpg

just wait a while
happens all the time for me when i go to my browser to view a link from baconreader, it will pop up every time i open my browser and if i just wait a while it eventually stops
