Alright, I'm trying to make a loop for the game, and for some reason, I imported the MP3 into Audacity, and when I click play, all it does is just make a fast squeaking noise, and I can't actually hear the regular track. Some help would be nice.

Well...not sure what fixed it for him, however I do know from experience that certain sound formats simply do not work with audacity.

Just today, for instance, I tried to import a WMA file but it produced the queaky noise. I had to go a track down an MP3 of the file in order to use it.

Audacity doesn't support WMAs due to copyright issues. If you're hearing that type of noise, it might be that you're playing back a file where the sample rate (e.g. 44.1 kHz) is too fast. Try lowering it.

You can record the sound directly from your sound card, allowing you to play any kind of sound from anywhere and then record it in Audacity. You can convert .wma files and .mid files played in windows media player to a more usable format this way, among other useful things.

True, but you may lose some quality in the conversion.

For most BL applications it seems fine.
