Author Topic: Why do people say I don't finish add-ons to me so much?  (Read 1117 times)

brian do you mind making blokheads work atleast? it's fine if you say no

Seriously guys, what the forget? I'm so angry because you guys are complaining that I don't finish my projects and create stuffty content. I'm not the only guy who releases completely mediocre work on Blockland!

So to prove that I finish mods, here's a list of mods that I didn't finish:

TribalRP - I finished this as my first mod but it sucks
BlockoCraft - These files were lost because I was incompetent and installed executables from shady research sites.
Minecraft Mods 1-3 - These three mods I had help on, but in my infinite incompetency I was only able to complete one of them. The other two were never finished, but trust me guys it was the other peoples faults!
Buildable Vehicles - I finished this, but it sucked. Hooray for loopholes!

so guys, now that you have an organized list of things that I didn't finish or finished poorly, please stop insulting me for being bad at creating addons. If you keep insulting me, I'll just stop making addons all together and I know just how much you'd all hate that!

Yes, but I was noting his perlin noise based terrain generators as the reason why everyone doesn't think he finishes anything
How is making lots of terrain generators relevant to not releasing addons
No, the fact that only one is released (and is stuffty)

mean but accurate

In Brian's support, buildable vehicles will never be good.

But that's just one thing to support lol

I never finish anything ever. Unless its super important

I have like 50 + builds I've started but never finished

Makes me feel sad that I never finish my builds but in the end it doesn't bother me a lot

So, you're mad that we're mad about you being... lazy.

Heck, if all you do is make these mods, then never finish any of them... what do you do?  Do you have fun theory crafting, or do you have fun typing up snippets of coding?

The least you can do is come up with an idea for a mod, then post the coding as you progress through making it work.  If you got some AI to do something unique, post that snippet of coding for everyone else to use.  If you finish that whole section, make sure it works nicely then release that.

Even if you don't finish the thing you set out to do, you can still say that you contributed.  I'm only typing this because you made a topic acting like you cared that we're calling you out on not releasing anything.  You aren't the only one that gets hateful statements directed at them.

...Just wow?

Come on people give the guy some credit. It's the thought and attempt that counts. There are many projects in life I have began, only to scrap them or not completely finish them and start on something entirely new.

A dynamic mind is an active mind

I can understand releasing things for "beta testing" and such, but if you know a mod isn't completely functional, try not to release it publicly.

Yea, I agree, if you start a project, it doesn't mean you have to finish it.
I'm the same way, I have bout 15 attempts of city mods, 5 attempts of TorqueOS (One which I made a topic for), a couple attempts of BlockCraft, and an attempt on making buildable vehicles, which turned out pretty nice, just a bit complex to use.
None of which I truly finished or released.

Also, are you the Brian Smith I know?
If so Pm me I have some things I need to ask you.

You probably shouldn't tease the mods you are making if you have no plans to finish them.
