In relation to General Discussion, there is generally only so much to talk about. (This sounded a lot less repetitious when there wasn't 2 replies while I was typing)
Not everyone has a server to share, nor do they keep them up long enough to bother having a topic about, or they don't have a forum account.
Then there's a fair amount of things in Gen Disc. which are just questions about Blockland, which are easily answered, or have been before hand.
Traffic is high, but not as high as the non-Blockland related boards.
Gallery is an equally similar point. There's not loads of things that people consider worthwhile in sharing, or there aren't many members with forum accounts.
For Off-Topic, it comes down to two factors.
One, there is a large community of people who are only related by their interest in Blockland, so they can constantly talk about other things.
Two, people love to talk about random stuff. And you can't blame them. There's only so much to discuss about Blockland, but there's so much to discuss about everything that's not Blockland.
And when you have a small-ish community like ours in Off Topic, we can usually find a plethora of subjects to bounce off of one another which multiple people find interesting.
Drama is then your other point.
And really, the truth of it is that people love to be complete richardheads to each other when online.
It's the whole concept of online anonymity.
Even if we have profiles on these forums and in-game, there's still a considerable amount on anonymity for us.
If I act a complete richardhead to everyone on the forums, when I go to College on Monday, there will be no one there who knows what a richardhead I have been. Since we don't tend to know each other in real life, a lot of the inhibition is gone. I care what my friends think of me, but that's not so important when it's a stranger online.
And because of that, there's always going to be a lot of topics and posts in the Drama section.
At the very least, it prevents an often volatile or unsatisfactory set of topics from finding their way into the General Discussion board or Off-Topic.
