What if your hosting a TDM? A DM? A TF2 map? There are times when you can't have a build on single-player.

And it's your work, what if someone saves your work, and hosts it, and a stuffton of players come and it gets to the top of the server list, only to have you join and shout "This is my build!" And nobody believing you? Crazy.

Blockland is a game that has a saving feature. It's going to stay and there's probably never going to have any restrictions.
 
Putting a server out as public is making it, well, public. If you want it to be private, host a passworded server and invite only your friends. That ties onto my next statement: you can have multiplayer games without it being public. TDMs, DMs, and TF2 maps are able to be hosted only for friends via the password function.

Using someone else's build for your own server is completely fine and does not deserve a drama. Again, if you don't want people to use it, don't put it out publicly.
