Author Topic: I made a song in MilkyTracker  (Read 989 times)

A few days ago I downloaded MilkyTracker to try and create some music, and several hours of blood, sweat and tears later, I ended up with this masterpiece: https://soundcloud.com/chipskate/cheesystuff
It's a 90's Amiga demo-style rock/metal song, using samples from classic Amiga demos. It's my first ever composed song, and despite it's flaws I'm quite pleased with it.

I think that made my ears bleed

i'd say that all the instruments you had were great sounding except for the guitar; it sounded a little dry.
the melody to the lead was good, i really liked that, though it starts and ends a bit abruptly (maybe make the volume slide in and out?).
the drum beat was at a nice pace, but it felt a little off beat with the guitar (or vice versa).
the length was good, and the way you put together different pieces of the song was excellent.

means x/10, i would definitely give it a solid 8/10 for a great concept, and a good execution. minor tweaks are really all you need.

I agree with Fancy, it was good... but it needs to be less earbleedy

yeah, the main lead is way too loud.

Thanks a lot for the feedback!
Yeah, I agree with everything you've said. I should've used a better sample for the lead guitar, since the current one doesn't pitch very well. I should also have made the guitar and the drums sync up better, and the outro was made in a hurry so that the song would end. I'll think about this next time I make music, though I have to say that I did pretty well considering I have no experience in writing music at all.
