Author Topic: Furling's 1000 Door Challenge v2  (Read 2752 times)

the most likely to not have a key in it (the second house, the first black house, the corner grey houses, etc.)
What's to stop any creator from putting it in these houses just because certain people wont guess them?

level 6 is more like a test of patience; if you don't have the time, then i guess you shouldn't play the level.
I have patience. Patience to understand why I messed up on previous challenges is due to not thinking properly or messing up. A mistake that happened due to an accident, or mere lack of skill. I do not have patience to play "pick a number between 1 and 20", the same reason I didn't buy McPixel, nor any other reskinned "pick a number" game.

furling says he will work on making it so the doors to the houses don't kill you.
so instead of a trial and error, it'll be more like a trial.
if that makes sense
it doesnt

Okay. Apparently you only need two keys.
I know where both are now after manually searching.

If you take the time to check each house in order, you'd need to check each not to mention the extra effort of actually getting to some of these houses.

I saved the build and kicked down each door on my own server to find them.

i figured someone would go explore the answers to some of the challenges.
but posting the answers right in the thread?
that's just unfair disrespectful low mean.

thank you.
i didn't think you put them there intentionally either, that was my rude way of pointing it out to you :c

I never specified exactly which ones.
I'll edit my post for you though.

I completely detest the idea of any challenge including something where the only way to get by something is to repeatedly guess.
Especially when guessing wrong rudely kills you after you jump across a million tiny platforms over water that kills you.
And even worse then the solution is completely randomized.
This ^^^

i really really hope you're kidding.
not kidding
I had to search around for a minute before finding out that HOOKSHOTTING THE RAMPS WAS THE ANSWER
how the HELL was I supposed to know that?
I MEAN COME ON THERE WAS A HOOKSHOT TARGET RIGHT THERE
I WOULD *NATURALLY* SHOOT THE HOOKSHOT TARGET.
however it kept killing me due to furling enabling falling damage.

FRUSTERATION DOES NOT EQUAL FUN.
also add a checkpoint in the middle for level 5
the first time I tried it i literally passed through the door that leads to the white key because I thought it would kill me and I didn't want to take a risk
the fact that I didn't want to take a risk is because I went through the entire damn level without dying and I want to finally pass it and not die
seriously, a checkpoint is like a miracle

ALSO I reallllllly hope level 6 isn't a huge guessing game.

this seems pretty cool but then i saw

+ Trial and error

seriously, who thought this was a reasonable thing to do?
no matter as what you cloak it, or how, trial and error in a challenge or anything at all is not fun. it's just tedious.

"what kind of challenge is it to make me look for 2 doors out of 63?"

but that isn't true, not at all. i, and others, were able to knock down 63 doors to around 20 just by looking at the position of the houses and eliminating the choices that seemed unreasonable.

just about everyone's definition of "unreasonable" could mean a whole lot of different things. everyone has a different idea of how these things work: you can't base a logic challenge on just your logical thoughts, because they're aren't everyone's logical thoughts, and therefore it's harder for others to finish the challenge.

seriously, trial and error is the worst direction to go in, with anything ever.

i remember i was playing megaman battle network for the first time years ago and i got to the school computer area and there were these doors. the number you had to enter in order to open them was completely randomized every time and you got only five chances to guess a number between 0 and 99.

does that even sound SLIGHTLY fun to you?

I didn't try hard on the pictures

spartankiller73 is trapped in the cramped white room.

I already bailed him out

yeah, there needs to be a button in that room.

and i suggested to furling that some of the houses in level 6 have clues in them as to where the house with the key is OR where a house with another clue is. does that sound like a "reasonable" challenge to anyone else?

That sound like a perfectly reasonable challenge. The hints have to be tricky, though.

I just made a button in the room to get out of it, like a couple hours ago.
