Coloring an Item without coloring the Icon

I have an item with doColorShift set to true and whenever I change the colorShiftColor it colors the icon and the item. How do I make it so it only colors the item without the icon recoloring?

If you color the icon in an image editing software and it doesn't have any white colors the colorshift is less apparent on it. There's no other way of doing it.
