Since you posted in the PRINTS section you'd need something like The Gimp or photoshop to  make prints, to model you need somthing like milkshape.

The page includes links to various utilities used in modding the Torque Game Engine. You'd be best getting started with either Blender, which is free, or Milkshape, which has a 30 day trial and costs only 20 dollars to register.
