Author Topic: Authentication Failed?  (Read 3078 times)

Typically if this is the case he wouldn't be able to authenticate at all. He claims that it will auth-fail randomly after already having succeeded.

That indicates he is sharing a Key to me.

Double post.

It randomly fails because when you log in, the original user of the key gets this error. So who ever is using your key, crashes, therefore allowing you to log in and play.

Well, it won't take long for your key sharer to log back in, thus crashing you and allowing him or her to continue. Then the cycle repeats again.

Dude, read this:

No, his ID checks out: http://forum.returntoblockland.com/list.php?cmd=view&id=35701
None of the characteristics of a shared key. (lots and lots of very sudden name changes)

Double post.

Randomly in game - Key sharing.

No, it doesn't happen randomly in game, it only happens about 10 - 15 - 20 minutes into HOSTing a game.

Your name not changing means nothing. The sharer of your key can use the same name.

Unless you can pin point an exact time of when it fails, it's random.

Do you have a dynamic IP?

Your authentication can fail, and not using a shared key.
And why would he even post this if he is sharing his key, cause he would of knew this.

Anyway, make sure your internet isn't dropping on you while you host, cause that happened to me before.

And is it only happening while you are hosting, or does it happen while you are playing the game?

I am guessing this could possibly be the problem? I dont think ISPs renew your IP every 10 minutes though.

I personally have Dynamic IP.
There's a IP range that I sometimes get that apparently gets me unbanned on websites that have a "ISP ban" and also apparently, does not work with Blockland due to Auth errors.
IP ranges 188. and 86. work for me, 5. doesn't. (Those are the IP ranges I get).

I had this about a month ago

Unplug your internet, wait 30 mins and plug it back in.

This will reset your IP address and will fix your problem
(hopefully)
