Will portforwarding or dedicated servers lessen lag?

I doubt it. You just need a stronger internet connection.

What are you computer specs?

To begin with, you need port forwarding to host a server anyway.
As for dedicated servers, depends. It helps in the case where you yourself is lagging. Usually when I go with hosting on local, if I alt tab everyone suddenly starts complaining about lag. But that might be just me.

Oh ok it appears to be just me and my satellite thanks!

For most people. That's the use of uPnP. But not every router supports that.

The server is on your computer. If you lag, such as video lag on youtube, your server will experiance the same lag.

Satellite internet is no good in my opinion.

Are you playing on the same computer as your dedicated console?

Port forwarding is not required to host, and no it shouldn't. Lag depends on your specifications and your internet speed.

Port forwarding is not required to host
Yes it is unless your router has uPnP enabled
