has any country leaders "robin hooded" (ie, tax the rich an insane amount and then helped the poor) their country or has this/is this never going to happen?

Well in the USSR they made everyone equally poor so that would kind of count

i thought america has higher taxes for higher income
lower taxes for lower income
and has (albeit few) things in place for the poor-er people

My grandparents were unable to work, and they received checks from the government to support them.
