When I entered the i.p. adress of blockland.us (184.173.220.194) into the URL bar, I found a white page with "hello" written in the corner.
What is the meaning of this?

probably something to keep from a person just spamming the website using the IP address somehow

I highly doubt having the first page that shows up for that server having little text would stop a DDOS attack.

I remember the website went down some time ago and I got frustrated when I was trying to do something there and I only saw "hello."

I never said it was, its a blank page that doesnt redirect to anything else so it must have some significance

forums.blockland.us is an expired domain I think. From the old server. Our current address is 'forum' not 'forums.'

Correction, the IP is an anti-DDoS technique. Badspot made it so no one can access the site by it's IP and spam it continuously.

Having it so it will take you to that page when you enter the i.p. into the address bar you will be taken to a file on the server that just says "hello" won't stop a ddos attack. Unless it is on a completely different server and entering the i.p. will redirect you to that server, it can still crash the forums. The reason for that is because it still connects to the server, it justs goes to a different file. And when you ddos, it will attack the entire server, not just one HTML file.
