Portal gun no longer works with projectiles?

As you can see in this video at 0:15 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IA9qiMZ5og the portal gun would send through projectiles such as the rocket. I tried this today with bricks and doesn't work, could it be because these are bricks and not interiors or something? Is there a fix for this?

Some of the portal gun's functionality was lost when the S&S update came along.

Portal gun tended to mess up either way. People would be portaling then suddenly BOOM everyone is dead cause the portal decided to explode

If somebody writes a fix for it and then gives the file to Ephialtes, I'm sure he would update it on RTB.
