So yeah, Ive been posting a lot on the forums lately about personal problems and teenage issues that people find annoying, but in the end this was an overall good week.
For those of you who dont know (probably most of you) I just got back from Washington Business Week at Western Washington University. Basically what it is is a summer program where people from highschool or just graduated highschool and are interested in learning about business (they also have other programs like healthcare and manufacturing) So far there are 4 universities in washington involved, as well as places in Alaska and Poland that have the same kind of program. I participated in the advanced program, which you can only do after you complete the regular program. The advanced program consist of a business simulation that you do with your company of about 8-10 people and compete with other companies in the program. The week also consist of a big presentation your entire company must complete by the end. What makes the week even better is guest speakers that either own businesses, work in large businesses such as Microsoft, Boeing, and PEMCO to people who are motivational speakers and even basic college students who managed to get into great schools with only average grades. You get many opportunities to stand out among others and really gain a stuff ton of confidence (like a talent show, presentations, volunteering to go up on stage, stuff like that). Along with all that you can literally talk to anybody you want without them being a major richard to you, its so easy to make friends and meet people from other places (I met a guy from Poland which was loving awesome). That was a basic run down of the week for you, and I highly advise you look into this program, it is literally the best summer program I have been to compared to any other. Also a lot of hot females are there (and guys I guess).
Anyway this week not only did I get to know more about my future, but I met some of the coolest people you could probably meet. I would literally walk out of my dorm building with a soccer ball and within about 10 minutes have a game of soccer going with people there. Not only did I become close to people I only knew for a few days, but I really felt like they were true friends, people I could actually talk to and not have to worry about being called a friend or loser. I even developed a close relationship with one of the girls their (not "boyfriend" close, I made a topic about it not too long ago). Anything bad that happened this week between the people their I completely forgot about or just shrugged off because it would be forgotten about within an hour or so. The only thing I can complain about is the fact that I was not able to properly say goodbye to anybody their or get any phone numbers and pictures on the last day because the people I went their with kept whining that they wanted to go home so soon so I had to leave a lot sooner than I planned to. Other than that this was probably one of the highlights of my year.
The reason I made this topic is to mainly share my experience with you guys and hopefully encourage you to go next year or to a similar program. I can assure you guys will love this.
