Author Topic: Tezuni hosting service thing  (Read 1570 times)

It seems both hosting services seem pretty equally matched.
Have a service which boasts its lag free and ill be impressed.
Don't hate for this, it may very well be impossible, I agree.
But doth thou accept thy challenge?

Generally you can't go wrong with either service, but RTB is better for beginners.

I've made of list of pros an cons for the Return to Blockland Dedicated Hosting Service and Kaphost Blockland Servers.

RTB Pros
More user-friendly.
Has more features.
Soon will have automated donation system.

RTB Cons
Auto-save is very buggy.
Servers crash a lot - our testing/development servers stay up for weeks on end, crashes are almost exclusively the fault of addons.

Kaphost Pros
Six month service is cheaper.
Faster download and upload speed and lower ping. - we have the same download/upload speed on all 3 of our servers. Ping time is based purely on where you live, but we have substantial evidence from a 3rd party service that New York (the location of RTB's servers) is far superior in terms of average global ping to St. Louis (where the Kaphost server is).
One server alone is capable of holding 900 players (however, the record is 127). - this is a ridiculous argument
Capable of holding 2,875 players across all servers. - RTB has 3 physical quad core, 16GB RAM servers, far greater capacity than Kaphost

Kaphost Cons
Requires FTP knowledge.
It's hosted by Kalphiter. - increased the size of this due to importance

This is all I can think of off the top of my head.

I honestly lean more toward RTB.

Just added some comments there, don't want to be deceiving anyone with incorrect information from an uninformed party.
