Can't see light on Jimmig's Torch while others can?

When I use Jimmig's Torch I don't see the light, while others can.
Image 1 is from a friend's view, while image 2 is my own.

Is there a reason for this?

I've attached my prefs.cs in base/config/client should it be needed

I've also tried turning shaders on and off. This didn't make a difference.

Check every single option in the graphics tab of the options menu.  I think there is some lighting option you have set lower than your friend.  I'll look for you when I can.

nope, everything is set to best

draw distance is at max

I could see the light since around 3 months ago, but since then it looks just like image #2. a couple other friends can't see the light either

When you press your light keybind, can you see the light on other bricks then?

Open up the options menu, go to the "Advanced" tab.
Make sure "Animated Lights" has a check mark next to it.

Did you get it off of the forums?  If so, I think your file is corrupted, and you should redownload it.

If not, check over your render distance type stuff for any low values.

Actually, this was at my kaphost server, so it's safe to say it wasn't my actual server.

Okay so I ran some tests here. The torch light does work when i'm in singleplayer. It also works if i'm hosting a non-dedicated server. However, if I do host a dedicated server, the torch light does not work, like it doesn't on my other dedicated.
