It's football. Only with guns.

You should download this and this so your loadtime isn't ten years. You'll still have to load the beta of the new H&K in-game though, sorry.

MAPS:
Basic Field
More of a test map than anything, sorry. If this seems to work out well I'll make some actual builds. The walls you see are destructible, being able to take six shots. The glowing things at each end of the map are the endzones. One point wins it.

well, the test hosting went really well, surprisingly enough. i think that means i'll proceed with this idea and make it an actual thing
here's the only problems so far:
  • severe need for some way to make the ball automatically reset, having to noclip to a button every time is both a pain, takes too long, and breaks the action
  • enforce more of a focus on touchdowns and less on just combat
  • figure out how to let players with the ball sprint; i can probably just find the drop ball trigger in the item and remove it, we'll see
  • some issues regarding sound triggers need to be sorted out, but i think i got that
  • khain, make me a pistol mofo

i think a build i can do quickly is taking bushi and eksi's collab city and adapting its highway, we'll see

Looks really fun, Will play for sure when the server goes up.

I love S4 League. I even tried making a Station-2 map in Blockland...

Taboo needs a Station-2 map.

all the reference images i've taken of st2 for my drawing of it could probably be used to build it if i felt like it
i can probably go rip the skybox, now that i think about it, and just port it to bl for this as well

You could let touchdowns (or a certain number of them) give the team more weapons or something of the like (Health items, grenades).

I'm actually thinking of using DrenDran's wonky class system to allow players to choose their loadouts, though I might set things up so that powerups and the like are spawned by TDs.

By the way, I ripped those skyboxes but I've run into some trouble. If anyone can help, that'd be swell.

I don't think you should let people choose their loadouts.

It's difficult for me to explain why, but I think it's just... lame.

Giving people specific tools to use for specific jobs (by use of specific loadouts) will simplify things.

Plus, every DM I've been to where you've been allowed to choose whatever weapon you want for yourself was just nasty-bad, and there was no consistency.

If everyone can choose their own stuff, then you don't know what you're up against and can just wind up getting your ass kicked every time because there's nothing to go off of.

If you have specific loadouts set up (heavy, scout, sniper, etc.) people can use different strategies to be victorious. That's all I'm sayin'.

If a server has loadouts it almost always removes that fun instant action arcade-feel where everyone is perfectly balanced and it's a matter of skill. The only server I've seen that did loadouts good is drendan's old server where you spawn with a random loadout.

Could you be a bit more specific concerning... "wonky ass spawn rooms"?

I mean, take Pecon's Boss Battles for example. It's pretty basic. You get told what the class is, what it does, you select it, then you're on your merry way.

You could make all the spawns in small cubes with buttons in them for loadouts, after 10 seconds the cubes dissapear and drop the selected loadouts.
Also, make the loadouts simple, you could have primary - meele - explosive or something among those lines because people won't use secondaries such as pistols anyways.

Use teledoors with onplayerenterteledoor>setinventory. Then remove collision on the exit door for one way.
