Author Topic: HP Envy M6?  (Read 991 times)

So I have this laptop (Lenovo thinkpad) It's a 2008 model I do believe (5 years old for the people who can't count). I've had it for about 1 year now, but I think that it will be dying within a year or two, so I should probably start putting money aside for a new laptop. I was wondering if the HP Envy M6 would be good... Specs:

You should also keep in mind that I DJ and produce music, but other than that it would be for occasional Blockland, Half life 2, Gmod, Arma 2, TF2, Minecraft, Counter Strike Global Offensive, Guild Wars, Battlefield 2 annnnnnnd games like that. Oh and possibly Metro 2033.

It's pretty good. Metro 2033 on high is not happening on that though. Maybe mixture of low-medium.

See if you can get a higher frequency processor. It should work, but I'd suggest at least 3 GHz.

Okay thanks guys, it's going in my bookmarks.

I would have done the research myself, but I'm currently on my tablet outside and I dislike reading on tablets.

The specifications alone seem alright. But you should keep in mind that HP doesn't have a very good track record in terms of creating high-quality products.

What makes you say that?

HP is an alright company and makes some decent machines, but...

Everything I have ever purchased from HP has died or broken before it was expected to.

Look around at a few different brands before you purchase anything, and make sure you read reviews on the retailers website.

The last HP computer I had, you couldn't change the stock parts (swapping graphics cards, etc)...

Yeah, hopefully I have roughly a half a year to one year to make a decision. 1 and a half if lucky.
