Author Topic: Vehicle mount points and hubs  (Read 1021 times)

When I set the armature for mount0, where do I place the armature, and where should it be pointing?

Also, for hub0, 1, 2, 3, etc, do I name the object, or make an armature and parent it to the object?

Armatures are family of bones that Blender uses to group and control bones. Armatures should not be exported to DTS. Blockland cannot understand armatures.

Bones are nodes in Torque. There can be multiple bones in an armature.

Armature is not a bone. Naming an armature does not name a bone.

Select and armature and press Tab to go to edit mode. Now you can edit the bones and name them by selecting a bone and pressing N to show the transform dialog.

I understand that, what I meant was how does the position of the armature/bone relate to the player's position? Like, is the bone where the payer sits, or where his head is?

The player is mounted to the vehicle by its origin point, which - for a standing blockhead- is within his feet. If you want to make your blockhead sit down, put the the bone in front of the seat.

Okay. Thanks!
