Windows 8 compatability trouble.

I just got my new Windows 8 Tower, and it is fast as ever. Nothing special has been installed, but I have been having some compatibility errors with my cd games originally made for Windows XP and Vista. They worked great on Windows 7, but they lag out after a couple of minutes. My computer is (like I said) a Windows 8, equipped with Intel Core i3 processor 2130, Intel HD graphics, 1TB Hard Drive, And it is HDMI capable. Screen resolution is 1024x768, and this is my personal computer. The games I have been trouble working with are:
1. NFS Undercover : Crashes between 30 minutes to 2 hours of gameplay. Crashes when a button is pressed, not randomly.
2. Combat Arms : Crashes between 10 minutes to an hour of gameplay.
3. Need For Speed Underground 2: Crashes in cutscenes.

Did you try running them in XP compatibility mode?

Try updating your graphic drivers. I know Intel does little to nothing in terms of keeping their graphical drivers up to date, but it's at least worth a shot.

Windows 8 is known to have compatibility issues with older games. I run Windows 8 and I played NFS: Undercover before on it. I haven't tried Combat Arms on the computer though. Your best bet is to try and use compatibility mode and run as administrator. If that's not the case: Try searching for a fix online such as an exe corrected for Windows 8.

If all else fails, just wait until Windows 8.1. It should be fixing a lot of our current issues with Windows 8.
