Author Topic: Bot Hole V8Zombie  (Read 12562 times)

Finally, I've waited for someone to update the Zombie hole.

Brilliant.

Just... brilliant.

Okay, something this mod really needs is options to not destroy the baseplate cubes and baseplates, I thought of re-making a zombie map that was around in v8 but the problem is the zombies would be able to break right out of the map. Oh hey this reminds me of that halo zombie map that one guy did and the zombies were flooding out, thanks Rotondo :) But PLEASE take my suggestion into consideration at least.

Edit: I think it would also be cool to have more than just the noob skin, maybe something like the old mod where it randomly generated peoples names and their avatars.

Eh, I think this would be nice for the Castle Defence: Zombies I'm trying to make. It's supposed to use Gcat's Flintlocks, 1700s Era.

Someone already stated it would be good for castle defense.

EDIT: and it's perfect!

Man, this brings back great memories of the first zombie servers that were ever around.

Hey Rotondo could you possibly remake the Left 4 Block zombies to work with a bot holes and remake the director script?

ONTOPIC:

This is awesome

Yes please C:

Could you possibly create some kind of "Anti-Zombie Brick" wand tool that either selects multiple like the duplicator or single bricks that makes it so zombies can't destroy it?  Maybe a command like /showAZB that highlights all zombie-proof bricks?  Wouldn't make sense if zombies could break through a reinforced concrete structure as easily as breaking through a window.

Could someone make a version of this that only fakekills bricks for like the ammount specified in the minigame settings for brick respawn? that would be cool.

I think there should be a command that toggles the bricks you place to be indestructable and destructable

nothing is safe

the result of khain and shortcut holding out for about twenty minutes or so

ahahaha the plate walls were a really good idea

We should have a game mode where the players get a certain limit of bricks they can use and they have ~7 minutes to build a fort and then the zombies come out. Last man standing wins.

-snip-
omg i missed out :(

but yeah its amazingly fun just having v8 zombies and a defense build, even though the build may suck in terms of looks. somehow trying to defend a building from utter destruction is addicting.
Khain's server was very popular today due to this <3
the build really was stuff in terms of organization and design but it was just somehow fun to duplicate plates and try and hold out for as long as possible.

Newb's guide to using V8 zombies:

1) Don't underestimate these zombies' health. They're not run-of-the-mill zombies where a few heavy-caliber shots will do them in. In fact, I believe that two direct rocket hits are required to take one out. If any of you use HK, it takes 2 headshots using the Intervention at 200% damage to take them out.
2) Buildings MUST be more than 12 bricks tall, preferably 20-30. Don't underestimate their stacking ability, as shown in Taboo's pictures. Look how the tower on the right had its upper platforms decimated with little damage to its underlying structure.
3) Spam is necessary. Use plates. Lots of them. And on that note...
4) Build buildings like you were tiling bricks. Don't duplicate any stacks of bricks; one hit will do them in. Look at Alternative's tower.
5) If it looks like stuff, it doesn't really matter. The most defensible buildings do so anyways. Look at Alternative's tower.
6) For a server with 13 people, 30 zombies will do. Bots can handle anything from 0 to 4 zombies at once, assuming you're not giving them explosive weaponry and also a reasonable gun (LMG's, heavy battle rifles, or at least a shotgun)
7) Zombies only kill bricks when they cannot reach you because something is in the way. Use this trait to create traps and stuff, since they won't kill bricks that don't impede them.
8) Zombies do not have pain emitters; you are doing damage, keep it up!
9) Zombies don't crouch often, if at all. I might be wrong on this, but I've killed a lot of zombies today and I don't recall ever seeing one crouching.
