Author Topic: Broken Add-Ons on RTB  (Read 670 times)

So Destiny's restricted events are broken. They don't work.

Why the forget are they still on RTB? What do you make of this madness? Any Alternative?

For some reason i feel like theres probably other add-ons on rtb that are broken as well. Like the TF2 Sniper (Heard but not confirmed) So I've decided to make a list here of add-ons on RTB that are confirmed broken and possible work arounds / solutions / replacement addons. Help me compile this list.

--------LIST----------- Confirmed / Possibly Broke

Restricted Events - Alternative=None
TF2 Sniper - Alternative=Kaje's Sniper Rifle
Event_Owner - Alternative=None (Thx Zeblote)

If you know of any others, please post here.

The RTB staff can't actively keep track of all the mods on there and remove broken ones. They can only do something if it's made clear that there's a broken mod.

That reminds me, doesn't RTB have a bug reporting service? Is that still a thing, or was it pretty much done away with after RTB2? There are still things about it in the filecp.

I disabled file reports because I got about 20 a day and 99% were asking for help with how to use them or dumb things like that. The only way I'd know a file is broken is if someone posted a thread or sent me a PM or something.

I have long term plans to improve how this works in that a file can be marked as broken and people can volunteer to submit fixes for it and become the maintainer of that add-on.

This would be very useful. So would restricted events if you fixed them.

Also i'll be posting broken RTB add-ons here so maybe it will help you out some ^_^

But i do understand where your coming from.

Certainly, it's helpful to know which add-ons are broken because I genuinely have no way to know. Confirmation would be good though.

You could always automatically lower the priority of reports that have the word "help" in them. This might help prioritize ones that actually deal with problems like broken addons and such.

Owner events

File name:

Event_Owner

-Re-registers default event
-Makes onActivate Admin-Only
-Overwrites onActivate
