My parents dislike the fact I want to paint my bedroom indigo. No one seems to get that purple (or indigo, similar colors) is a calming color. :K
My room is like a blue-ish purple colour,

Got it, white is innocent and pure, and black is evil and death.

In some cultures, it's the other way around.

White devil.

Anyways, I'd use tan for my kitchen. Yellow is too overwhelming in design to be a whole entire wall.

I wish that my room could be painted blue, since it is my favorite color. I find blue to be a very relaxing color too.
