for the 1" sheets use particleboard, it will hold its shape and wont bend under the weight of a large TV
I'm not gonna have anything that heavy on it at all. Just a stereo reciever, cable box, a ps3 and my center speaker. The center speaker or the receiver are probably the heaviest thing that's gonna ever be on it. The receiver only ways about 23lbs and the speaker is 13lbs. I was just worried that the wood would warp on it's own over time.
