Author Topic: Free choice adventure!  (Read 2187 times)

Only one rule:
Anything too ridiculous (ex: fly away on magical pony) will be disregarded

Start:

You wake up in a small, grey room. There are paintings of you lining the wall, waiting to be spit shined. A chest lies in the northeast corner. Watdo?

Unleash your imagination to wake up in a much more creative place.

so you murdered your first adventure and fart out an identical one

ok

You unleash your imagination and now you are standing in the middle of an open field. A bulldozer is pretty much destroying everything off in the distance. Good god, what are you taking?

ok

Multiple choice adventures suck.
and don't even get me started on farting out stuff because good god just don't

Run to the bulldozer, but make sure to stay out of its way.

You start to run over to the bulldozer. Man, this might take a while. Oh my god, you're starting to sweat profusely. You finally make it to the bulldozer. By the time it took you to get there, it stopped. The keys are still in however.

Multiple choice adventures suck.

You made this adventure in about 2 minutes. I think that constitutes as farting it out. Unless you have an elaborate plan as to what will happen over the course of the adventure (which you should), you shouldn't really make one. Also, just an hour ago, you made a multiple choice adventure that was identical to this, as far as I can see from post #1. Why did you change your opinion so quickly? Or do you have masochistic tendencies and like to make things you dislike?

and please don't pull out the "why don't you make an adventure yourself? I bet you can't ooooooh" card because I've been planning it out for months.

and I'm not trying to be dismissive or mean, this is my assertive tone.

I had plans from the first one, and then I transferred it into a free choice version. However, I decided to go with a completely different route because of the first post besides mine. I'm sure yours will be good.

If you make the (not very) bold decision to make a "free-choice" adventure, you have to realize that people will do anything, which should affect your planning. If you had a "completely different route," I presume you didn't have a very strong plot. Forum adventures have to be planned in a very non-linear method, meaning that the plot be able to be applied through multiple routes.

Also I don't see why you didn't use the old adventure, it was mediocre (harsh word, I know. I mean it in the nicest way possible) until you locked it and made this.

My suggestion is to stick with the plot you planned, and try and think of a way you can steer it towards that direction no matter what people try to do. Adapt, but don't abandon.
