I just wish people would move away from mini building as a final project and see it as a layout to build up from.
err
no?
That's not necessarily true at all.
I like building mini for a variety of reasons... 1, I like seeing how much detail I can cram into such a small space, 2, I can make a market a 32x32 area and it seems massive when you look at the scale of it, and 3, nobody builds the way I do. My style is completely unique. Nobody builds as large as I do. When you see a marketplace on another server, it's an 8x8. Mines 48x48. When you see a house on another server, it's a 2x2 round brick with a cone. My houses consist of almost 200 bricks, sometimes 500 if it's a manor or something elaborate.
My builds are not layouts. They are not intended for anything other than what I design them for: Be little. Be brilliant. Be memorable.
Further more I go above and beyond most mini empires in that I event all of my stuff. Medieval ship? I make 3 groups of cannons on each side of the ship, create a randomizing VCE variable, have it select 1 group of cannons, and those cannons fire, with sound, effects, hell sometimes even ammunition failure and damage reports.
Some things have events just for the hell of it. I have a drop pod with sounds, effects and changing bricks to simulate it landing and extending out a walkway thing like the millenium falcon.
So no, Nobody, I do not need to realize anything. It is not a layout. It is my imagination the way I see it. And in my world, I am a god.
