To be honest, I don't think there should be any leverage given to using words like handicapped and gay as insults and slang. If you're so slack-jawed and drooling that you can't come up with a better word, I will personally buy you a thesaurus.

If they take any amount of pride in doing their job in creating an accurate dictionary, they are obligated to report the use of "gay" as a synonym for stupid or irrational. Languages are going to evolve and change and their's not really any reason to expend effort to stop it.
