i keep getting a weird popup when downloading from mediafire

whenever i download something from mediafire, it opens up this new window:

and a new tab with this address:


what's this all about
is it something harmful or is it just a normal thing that mediafire does
and does it happen to anyone else
i tried googling it but nothing relevant came up
it's probably nothing but i just wanted to make sure

Just ads. Mediafire, compared to sereval years ago, now became crap and clogged with ads. It's generally a terrible choice now to put something up for download on Mediafire.

Because everyone started using it after megaupload was taken down so they needed ad revenue to get more servers that can hold the traffic.

It is entirely megaupload's users fault for it being taken down, they uploaded illegal stuff (i.e. pirating stuff) and the admins didn't do jack stuff about it.
