Author Topic: Centrylink - Keeps creating 403 errors on almost every website  (Read 537 times)

I keep getting 403 errors on all websites, including the forums and the game itself (I am using a phone connection at the moment so that is why I am only here)

The error has something like:
+ You are required to log in.
  - You are able to connect to the website, but log in is required.

Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

I doubt CenturyLink would forbid you on websites because you aren't logged into their ISP. It just doesn't make sense.

Well I am fine using my phone's network, but using centrylink's network seems to tell me I need to log in with a 403 error.

Pretty stupid and it makes no sense at all.

I wasn't having this issue an hour ago, I never even messed with the network.

If you're able to use the phone line (which is assume service is also provided from CenturyLink,) it is probably your router. What makes you think it is CenturyLink that is probably causing the issue is because you're using a CenturyLink branded router given to you when you subscribed to their service.

So I guess it means you need to log in to your router. Just like you would on say, a restaurant or school hotspot.

as far as i know this is the case

i don't remember the details but when we first got our new modem/router from centurylink we could use it for a little while until it wanted us to log into the router and do a final setup before we could use it again, after that it was perfectly fine

if it asks for a specific password chances are it's printed on the bottom of the modem/router
