Author Topic: Steven Segal is weighing in on the safety of the Olympics  (Read 471 times)

Russia Today has to be the most laughable source of news out there. On top of them being basically the propaganda wing of the Russian government and them giving people like Humble Water Filter Merchant air time they do stuff like this. They have Steven Segal on to talk about the safety of the Olympics and that also has to do with US immigration reform I guess. Who gives a stuff what Steven Segal has to say about anything, he did some super stuffty action movies and was a "deputy" on some reality show.

Steven Segal weighs in on Sochi security

They're also pumping out all this stuff about how great Sochi's olympic village is. How all of the recent terrorist problems don't real. I've noticed lately that people are trying to say that anything pointing out the negative aspects of Russia is just part of some conspiracy to make them look awful.

Maybe its because Russia is a forgeted up stuffhole and not as good a country as most people believe.

idgi.  what's the issue here?  there is as much of a terror threat in sochi as there was in london in 2012.  the difference being that Russia likes to hide their counter-terrorism measures much more than the UK or US would, mostly to appear tougher.

the olympic village, however, is a pile of stuff no matter what, probably more so than many others (one of the US snowboarders or skiiers said something like most olympic games are like this way, rushed at last minute).  given the huge attention on the lack of preparedness this year it seems like russia really dropped the ball on this.
another concern with the olympic village is that sochi has been literally turned upside down for the games, upsetting a lot of locals and setting up massive abandonment in sochi.  i guarantee you the gigantic billion dollar checks russia dropped on infrastructure, hotels, stadiums, etc. will go to waste.

The US isn't all that different, neither are any of the nations of the world.
