idgi. what's the issue here? there is as much of a terror threat in sochi as there was in london in 2012. the difference being that Russia likes to hide their counter-terrorism measures much more than the UK or US would, mostly to appear tougher.
the olympic village, however, is a pile of stuff no matter what, probably more so than many others (one of the US snowboarders or skiiers said something like most olympic games are like this way, rushed at last minute). given the huge attention on the lack of preparedness this year it seems like russia really dropped the ball on this.
another concern with the olympic village is that sochi has been literally turned upside down for the games, upsetting a lot of locals and setting up massive abandonment in sochi. i guarantee you the gigantic billion dollar checks russia dropped on infrastructure, hotels, stadiums, etc. will go to waste.
