Author Topic: (American) Football conditioning/lifting thread  (Read 1150 times)

idk how many people here actually play football, or if you're thinking about it. I just got back from winter conditioning (I know my school is weird) we do winter conditioning all the way to spring then take a 2 month break (if we want) then we kick back into gear and then we're in actual practice and our first game is literally like 2 days after we start back up. During those 2 days we get our jerseys, helmets, pads, gloves, cleats, etc. Anyways, I'm currently doing lifting/conditioning. It's conditioning cause we're outside for about 25 minutes everyday chucking the ball and doing drills then we come inside for an hour and a half and we lift and or do more drills. So yeah post your position and what you're doing to stay fit.

I'm currently:

Defense: Linebacker
Offense: Offensive Line / Backup Running Back (Since my football team literally has 15 players I play both offense and defense)

I have a feeling not to many play football here lol But I'm extremely interested in seeing what some of you guys play. And also feel free to share funny / painful stories.

I dont know if Im going to do football again this year because I think Im going to focus on wrestling

doing a pretty nice workout right now. Have to be kind to the back because of my injury though

High School Football is like 9 months away.

You might have jumped the gun a little bit.

For us it starts in 5 months, almost 6. But not really, because I'm also playing part-time baseball for my school. And it's important that your working out for that.

Wrestling looks like a really fun sport, I might consider my only issue is the singlets lol

Well it's important to eat healthy (doesn't mean you have to cut Wendies or Mcdonalds completely, just reduce it a bit), take vitamins, drink plenty of water and eat a lot of good meat, and try to eat SOME fat not a lot. Then it's important (depending on where you want your muscle mass) to work that specific area out. I'd if I were you, lift some dumbbells maybe (10 lbs or more, depending how strong you are now). Trust me, 10 lbs can make a BIG difference within 2 weeks. Do about 3 sets of 10.

You have the same coach every year? We get a whole new set of coaches for each grade.

ok i exaggerated a LITTLE bit

well 7 8 and 9 have different coaching staffs but the rest of high school would have been not getting a fair chance with him

You usually aren't thinking about singlets when you're wrestling

Idk I don't mind them at all. Plus you feel way better once you see 220+ lbs guys wearing them...

I much prefer boxing

I would LOVE to do boxing

but what if you become erect

but what if you become erect
idk how that's possible unless you're going through puberty and are horny af and gay

Usually you go in with the mindset that you are going to win and win the tournament and then after the match you are in the mindset that wrestling is exhausting and you are really tired
