Author Topic: Facebook XMPP - Can anyone help me with the XMPP?  (Read 1797 times)

But RTB chat was just dressed up IRC, wasn't it?

Yes it was. I remember I used to be able to connect to it over my IRC client, that was nice.

Cause XMPP is pretty broken

What? XMPP is a highly standardized, widely used and extensible instant messaging framework.

Although it only takes live messages, so it can't load up the chat and, more importantly, if your internet blips out for a bit, you can miss messages from the XMPP while the website obviously maintains them.

Maybe try inspecting the site php [blah]
You can't just inspect a website's php code...

This is an issue with Facebook, not XMPP.

Not to mention that nobody has any reason to use PHP anymore anyway, especially not Facebook.

i used pidgin with facebook and it's pretty lacking.

i'm gonna wait for some better client to come out.

...That absolutely no one uses. Seriously, I know no one besides you, me and two of my friends who use it.

And I'm talking outside of Facebook Messenger and ICQ

I know, it is that they aren't serving out. I was hoping you could look in, but nope... Steam friend again?
