Author Topic: Running multiple dedicated servers with one Steam account / BL key  (Read 804 times)

Is it against the Blockland license agreement to run multiple dedicated servers under the same Blockland key or Steam account?
I've wondered if this is allowed.
If this is illegal, I'm not trying to violate the agreement!
I just want to know if it's forbidden, discouraged, okay, or completely allowed to use the same account simultaneously to run multiple Blockland dedicated servers at the same time.
If it's okay up to a certain limit, what's the max. number of servers you're allowed to run?

I guess dedicated servers dont go per account.

YorkTown95 I believe is hosting 4 or 5 at the moment and Tezuni has been hosting 3 for months.

Uh you're allowed as many as you want. Be reasonable though, or you'll be banned from the master server.

But what if, for example, you have friends who don't own the game, but want to run a server (although they can't play on it).
And let's say your username is "Hoster".
Are you allowed to run dedicated servers on their behalf (for example, naming one of them "Hoster's Blockhead99627's server")?

...what is the point of having someone host a server for you if you can't even play in it yourself

I know this, but I'm asking if it's legal.

Of course, the only difference is the name.

Why would it be illegal? Are you high?

By "legal", I meant if it is against the Steam or Blockland terms of service.

So I'm allowed to create an account called "Hoster" and run servers for 20+ players who can't afford the game?
Wouldn't that deny Badspot his money, therefore it's not allowed?

It's allowed, but it makes no sense. If you can't play the game, why would you pay for hosting?

It might make sense if you want to test add-ons or something.
But anyway, problem solved. Locking topic...
