I don't know much about modern history, but, why do people hate Jews so much?
Historically because they've been a minority race with a differing religion.
That was the reason for their initial enslavement by Ancient Egyptians and other forces.
Then when they founded Israel it was a holy site for them, but was ransacked by multiple forces over the centuries, solely because it was weak.
The Romans took control of Judae, where the Jewish people lived, and made them a province of Rome.
It was under Roman control that the Christian religion sprung from the teachings of Jesus Christ.
By Biblical account the Jewish people turned away from Jesus when he was being persecuted by the Romans, and they chose to have him crucified.
Christians therefore split from the Jews and have disliked the Jewish people because of the difference in religion.
Later on Islam developed from proto-Christianity among the Nomadic arabian people of North Africa.
They were led by the teaching of the Prophet Muhammad. He supposedly took a pilgramige which led him from Mecca to Jerusalem, which the Jews find to be their Holy Land.
The Dome of the Rock was built in Jerusalem, on top of the site of the former Second Jewish Temple. The Dome is a Muslim Mosque.
As a result Muslims fight with Jews over who has the right to that Holy Site.
Christians also have the same issue with both Jews and Muslims, because Jerusalem is a holy site for all three religions, being the Jews promised land, a Holy site of Muhammad and being the city where Jesus spent his final days, being crucified just outside of it.
These are the main reasons why the three religions are usually against each other, plus all the varying differences between the teachings of their respective prophets and leaders and Holy Books.
In Modern History the Jewish people were persecuted for being different.
As a race of people some saw them as weaker than other races, primarily as seen by the national socialists.
It's always been a case that the Jewish people were weaker than others and seen with mistrust.
As a people they've always been the easiest target.
And Jewish people have also responded too. In many cases it comes from a cycle of repetition of vengeance.
