Author Topic: Authentication error kills server with 0 warning  (Read 1423 times)

Ever since we hit steam my server has, at random, unpredictable moments, shut down due to some form of authentication error, does this happen to anyone else? When I try to host I have no idea if I am just gonna surprise crash or not.

I also cannot upload my console .log because it is too big (3.16 mb is too big?)

NoEdit: I don't host much, a non-dedicated small-time MERP with less than 3k bricks at the moment, nothing that can crash a game, with a slayer-based minigame.

Upload the file to a file-sharing site, and then post the link here.

What is the exact error message?  What id number are you using to host the server?

I've played around with Steam authentication 2 months ago, and my dedicated BL server shut down whenever Steam was not running, and a player joined. Duhman, does Steam.exe randomly shut down?

Prob a dumb question. But are you sharing a steam account with someone? Maybe they logging on and steam is kicking you xd

Uh, I can sign into my steam account with my laptop and desktop at the same time

I had the same chat window open on both one time

Are you sure? Before it would always say the account is already in use and kick out the other computer. I have no idea why it worked

The beta allows you to be logged into as many sessions as you want now.

Oh, that's cool. Does it work from multiple IPs too?

No, as far as I can tell.
I use my steam account from two different IP's, and it often signs me out of the other computer.
