because for some reason the idiots at microsoft decided to make extensions hidden by default

ok in links, the extensions always show up. no matter what file it is. on the desktop by default yeah it hides them.

not to mention every time you open up an exe file it will ask you to "Run" or "Cancel". if you disabled that like a moron, then you deserve a virus.

Well that would be annoying as hell to have a popup like that every tine, so obviously you disable it.
