Resolution Problem with Ubuntu Server

I want to host Dedi BL servers via Ubuntu Server OS but I dont know if my PC can do

Graphics card and monitor capable of 640x480

The lowest resolution I got on the Display was 800x600.

Is this the correct way to find my res?

Is there an easy alternative OS for my specs?

A linux server does not have a display. Only a command line.
