Author Topic: Steam and Dedicated Servers  (Read 904 times)

I just bought Blockland on Steam. I want to setup a dedicated server on a separate machine. If I download the Blockland installer from the Blackland website to run it in as a dedicated server it asks for a key. Looks like with the Steam version of the game I don't need a key. So I'm just wondering how I can setup a dedicated server on another machine.

That is currently an issue I don't think has been fixed yet.
Possibly with the new steam users joining Blockland, Badspot might create a solution for it.

Being the developer he is, I doubt it.

I believe he'll fix it some time. When? Who knows.

You will be able to run a dedicated server, eventually. But for now, tough luck.

i thought hammer posted a work around to hosting dedicated servers from steam?

To wit: This issue was presented sometime within the week of our official Steam release. Here we are half a year later.

Did no one else noticed this? I never thought I'd see someone genuinely use it :L

How did that slip by me? I'm ashamed.

Oh my god, I did not notice that at all.
Wow.
