Author Topic: my internet is elephant stuff  (Read 546 times)

its only barely making it through blf, and it can't load images... even a flag from /int/ won't load, and all of the images on the forums here won't show except for avatars. good news though, my neighborhood got fiber and we get a free upgrade, does anyone know if this is good? ive heard good things about it but im not sure

diD you turn it off and back on again

did you jiggle the battery

ive heard from multiple sources that fiber is the best out there

but yeah run a speedtest and show us

My fibre is much better than going through the old copper wires.

Although, fibre optics only go so far. Fibre Optics here go to a hub in the centre of town, about half a mile away.
From there it travels through the regular copper phone wires to get to us.
So, it's still affected by weather.

What's the wheather like where you are, by the way? It can make a difference, particularly if stormy.
And are you connecting to the internet in your house via wifi or a wired connection?

Didnt you say you had 99gps or somethings for speed. Or was that nal

Weather is absolutely perfect. No storm clouds anywhere.
Wifi.

speedtest doesnt work lol

Is there any hidden software or is anyone in the house downloading large things?

That could slow your internet to a crawl.

Wifi.
How many devices currently connected to your wifi? Many of them in use, or anyone downloading things?

Are you on a desktop or laptop or mobile device? If the latter two, are you where you normally are in the house when you're online?
Try moving around the house some if you can. It's not uncommon for houses to have deadspots where the wifi just isn't as good or doesn't reach. Mine has a few deadspots where you just can't use the internet at all if you're in that position.

turning off the router and leaving it off for a half hour or so seemed to help
